Bad Company 2 sticking it to MW2 again?

Another short video linking post from me today, my fingers still need some recovery from the Mauer article yesterday. Cheers to Sam from AltTabbed for bringing this to my attention.

Most of the people reading this will have played both MW2 and BC2 (as my PC has yet to have it’s HD recognition error resolved, I am still waiting to get on BC2….), and will have seen these two little jokes in BC2 towards MW2.

Joe Mauer – What should the Twins do?

(Editor’s Note – People who know who Joe Mauer is might wanna skip on to the jump)

(Writers Note – This is a M.F. long post, so you might wanna grab a drink and some nibbles before starting this)

Joe Mauer is every baseball managers and VP of Player Personnel idea of a prototypical franchise player.

He has the clean image, a likeable personality, active in the community, recognisable to even those outside of the game, marketable and hot damn he can hit the ball. Not only that, but when the Twins drafted him no. 1 overall in the 2001 MLB Draft, they drafted a hometown hero, having been born and living in St. Paul, Minnesota for all of his life.

It was known at a very young age that he was talented at sports, having played Baseball (as catcher), Football (as QB) and Basketball, along with winning the USA Today High School Player of the Year in Football and Baseball, and All-State honours for Basketball. When it came time to choose a specific sporting discipline, he turned down a football scholarship from the Florida State Seminoles in order to enter the MLB Draft. His career from this point, has done nothing but rise.

“What’s In The Box?” – Half-Life Inspired Video

Only a short post today (you’ll find out why tomorrow) – found this a couple days ago on YouTube. It’s a video inspired by Half-Life  2 and has some absolutly amazing SFX. Not too sure if it was a one-off experiment or the start of a larger project, but it is awesome none the less.

I passed :D

Yep, the roads of Britain are now in complete danger as I have a license :D .

Passed with four minors, but now have a better perspective of baseball. Why? Because the examiner was an passionate Baseball fan from Maryland. Not only that, but he knew a member of the Minnesota Twins from the 1970′s, which for me puts you up on a pedestal. He also happened to study the course I want to do at uni and was in regular contact with my old GCSE Geography teacher.

So even if I had failed, it would have been the best test of the three, but I passed, so I am happy as anything right now. I’ve got a revision session tonight, but I’ll try write up some posts tomorrow to be dispersed down the week, as well as queue up a OHP, most likely Daughtry. Quick warning – I’ve got a 1,100 word essay on Joe Mauer and the Twins options regarding his contract situation, and I’ve still got a little bit to do yet :P

Until then, watch your back…and listen out for Breaking Benjamin music on the roads, ’cause you’ll hear me long before you see me. But hopefully not like this…

2010 NFL Mock Draft v.3.1

Well this took a bit less time than ‘this Thursday’, eh? I wasn’t happy with the way 3.0 came out at the end, so decided to re-go through it, and I ended up with some rather odd changes, mainly Dez Bryant plummeting. Check it out – with thanks to FFToolbox for making it easy to put in selections and copy-paste the result rather than typing it all out – all the links are to their site info.

So, I got my act together….

Yep, I finally got sorted out on WordPress. Just a quick post to say thanks to Alex at ATK Community for getting my hosting setup and keeping me sane when I attempted to do a database creation to the wrong folder…..yeah, I am that kind of a nab. If you looking for some cheap hosting, then go there and pick some up – use my name as a referral :D

In terms of updates for the blog this week, I’ve got a driving test tomorrow, so if there is a post on Wednesday regarding the DSA’s stringent denial of a quota system, and then the prevelent logic displaying the fact that they have introduced one, then it’s a fair bet to assume I failed. I may post it up in the end anyway. I posted up Mock 3.0 at the end of the week, but wasn’t too happy with the end of the draft, so I’ll aim to get a 3.1 up before the end of Thursday. Chances are I’ll review the Vikings free agency moves, or rather the lack of them, sometime this week as well.  And as usual, I have a One Hour Playlist – this weeks will be Rage Against The Machine.

So until I get a full post out, here is Mr. T on the economy:

US school cancels prom ‘over lesbian date’

From BBC News (LINK)

A school board in the US state of Mississippi has cancelled a high school prom after a female student asked to attend with her girlfriend. The board said it would not host the event due to “distractions to the educational process”. Student Constance McMillen, 18, said the move was in retaliation for her request to bring her girlfriend to the event and wear a tuxedo. The school had circulated a memo prohibiting same-sex dates. Ms McMillen approached school officials shortly before the memo was issued.

My thoughts after the jump.
