Hey everyone, you find me in a very happy mood.
I’ve just ordered the components for my new computer, codenamed Erebus Mk. 2 (because I’m sad like that
). I’ve been planning this for a while, but it has only become necessitated with the death of Erebus Mk. 1.
Spec’s are as follows:
Processor – Intel Core i7-930 (2.8Ghz Quad Core)
GFX Card – ASUS HD 5870
Case – NZXT Lexa S (LINK)
Motherboard – ASUS P6TD Deluxe
RAM – OCZ 6GB DDR3 1333MHz CL7 Platinum
Hard Drive – 2x Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
Sound Card – Asus Xonar Essence STX
OS – Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
CD Drive – LG somthing-or-other
And yes, it is probable the only nVidi-phile remaining in ATK has finally switched to ATI. And why wouldn’t I, they bum rimmed us for six months with nothing, only to give us a ‘major announcement’….of an annoucement at a confrence we already knew they were at. They did give us a date of the end of March, but only after 500 messeges of ‘fuck you, we’re off to the Red Team’ on their Facebook page, myself included.
Other than that, the only real changes in company for me are OCZ for memory and ASUS for Mobo and GFX (Corsair, Gigabyte and XFX respectively in Mk. 1).
Probably will be built sometime next week. I will have pictures up not long after. Info from Futuremark speculate that the build will get me around 25-26k minimum in Vantage, so #1 rig in ATK will once again belong to me
Finally, just a quick thanks to the guys at ATK who helped me put the build together, notably Piers, Callum and Pedobear.
The numbering system is quite straight forward. The first number is the version of data I have available in terms of ESPN ranking, peoples mocks etc. This will go up one every time I obtain a new copy of ESPN’s draft rankings, other sources report something major of note (free agent signing, shift in team needs etc.), a scouting event, or something that upgrades my current information significantly. The second number is the draft number I have done on that information. For example, 3.4 is my third data revision, and my fourth draft using that data.
Expect a new mock in the next couple days after the scouting combine and the flurry of free agency activity.

OK, I’m actually gonna try make this work this time. This blog will basically be my outlet for sport, news, music, politics, technology and anything that comes into my mind. I’ll copy some stuff over from the old music blog as well as my latest mock draft.
Let’s do this.
MC.
